What’s Been Happening at Believe Early Learning Mooroopna
We had a wonderful April at Believe Early Learning Mooroopna filling the first official month of Autumn with many age-appropriate experiences.
We acknowledged and participated in some special celebration days
These included:
- Easter
- Anzac Day
- International Day of Dance and Yoga.
We embrace diversity and encourage our children to participate in celebratory occasions
This allows them to learn more about the lives of their fellow childcare mates and the local community they live in.
The older rooms had a special treat and joined in a fun and energetic incursion with Kristal from Happy Feet Fitness, a family business that combines fun with health and fitness especially for children. After a good warm up, Kristal soon had the children dancing freely, expressing themselves and moving their bodies – and there were some epic dance moves! The children also loved following along with Kristal’s dance routines which helped them build their concentration and coordination, and most of all have fun!
There were more special opportunities for the children to get creative with art activities, including making their own Easter baskets, painting poppies or making sun catchers in the shape of an egg. There was so much enthusiasm and excitement when the art supplies were brought out to the tables, and the best thing about these types of activities is that they can be altered to suit all age groups, so everyone has a turn!
Celebrations are fun and help children learn!
Celebrating these days in an early childhood setting provides meaningful and age-appropriate ways to help young children understand cultural, religious and national traditions. Through thoughtful conversations and interactions, our Believe Early Learning Educators start to embed the importance of being involved in the world around us and learning the history and significance of different events and days.
